Meet Angie – The Heart Behind Misty’s Parlour
Behind Misty’s Parlour is Angie — a self-proclaimed animal enthusiast with a lifelong love for dogs and a heart full of creativity.
Angie’s passion for animals began in early childhood. One of her first memories is visiting the greengrocer next to her parents’ shop to buy a chocolate dog bone — not for herself, but to feed the shop owner’s friendly Golden Retriever. That simple act of kindness sparked a connection that would grow into a lifelong devotion to animals. Her first real canine bond came later, with Misty — a blue roan Cocker Spaniel owned by her Year 6 teacher. Angie was entrusted with walking Misty during lunch breaks and making sure she was safe and happy. That early responsibility left a lasting impression, and nearly two decades later, Misty would become the namesake and inspiration for Angie’s grooming salon. While Angie doesn’t have a dog of her own just yet, she shares her home with Billie Joe, a mischievous tuxedo cat with lots of personality. Outside the salon, Angie enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She’s a multifaceted creative — a professional singer, musician, and artist. Beyond her work with animals, Angie has written, illustrated, and published The Lonely Ghost and Other Phantasmal Poems — an immersive poetry collection that weaves together music, illustrations, and storytelling into a singular artistic experience.
